Every fifth Polish teenager suffers from depression. 4-8 percent of young people are diagnosed with a clinical depression that needs to be treated. Such information was published by the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Professor of Psychiatry Janusz Gaitsman explains that adolescents depression begins in a different way than adult, and is not always accompanied by sadness. More often young people start being aggressive do not want to go to school, stop talking with their parents, avoid contact with their peers. Small children may experience somatic disorders such as abdominal pain, headaches.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The 15-year-old Amelia Grushchinska became ill with a depression when she was 12 years old. Her mother became ill and was put to the hospital, and Amelia could not handle it. The treatment at a psychiatric hospital helped the girl and today Amelia wants to help other adolescents who are combating depression.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
