The Presiding Judge of the Obolonsky district court of Kiev prematurely stopped interrogating President Petro Poroshenko in the case of state betrayal of Viktor Yanukovych after the defense raised the issue of Poroshenko`s vacation at the Maldives. It is reported by Upmp.news with reference to pravda.com.ua.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Yanukovych’s lawyer Vitaliy Serdyuk asked the president why during his recent holidays (which Poroshenko had held in the Maldives – ed.) no one in Kiev had made any decision to abolish him.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In such a way the defense has paralleled the situation with Yanukovych in 2014. After Yanukovych left the contry, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a resolution to abolish Yanukovych from the duties of the president and appoint interim Head of State Alexander Turchinov.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Presiding Judge Vladislav Devyatko immediately reacted to such a question, because he had repeatedly warned the former president’s attorneys about the need to raise questions on the merits of the case.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPetro Oleksiyovych, I apologize. Defenders deliberately ask questions that are not relevant to this criminal proceeding, and do no show the will to question you,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am forced to stop your interrogation,\u201d added the judge.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the rules of the testimony, Poroshenko was to continue another 20 minutes, until 15:30.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
