The story of Tetiana Cherevko \u2013 a woman who lost her husband at the front but continues to hold on to life, home, and love in her heart.<\/strong> This was reported by Upmp.news, citing<\/a> the blog of the author, volunteer, journalist, blogger, and public activist Liudmyla Pedochenko.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her voice \u2013 not despair, but strength born from pain.
Tetiana Cherevko lost her husband Dmytro, but preserved the most important things \u2013 dignity and love.
Now she lives for both of them. Because she has someone to live for.<\/p>\n\n\n

When on February 24, 2022, Dmytro Cherevko came to the military enlistment office, he was refused \u2013 he had three underage children.
But he did not stay at home. For a month, he served in the local territorial defense, and already in March he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine \u2013 the 118th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe couldn\u2019t wait. He said he couldn\u2019t watch others go to fight. He silently packed his things,\u201d Tetiana recalls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In September 2022, Dmytro was wounded near Spirne in the Donetsk region. After a short rehabilitation, he returned to the front.
He couldn\u2019t do otherwise. His comrades said: \u201cDmytro is always the first. He never hid behind others\u2019 backs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He fought honestly, until the very end. He was killed on the Kursk front on October 27, 2024<\/strong>. That day, his comrades managed to get him to the regional hospital in Sumy.
Tetiana believed until the last moment that he would survive. She was preparing to go to him when, in the morning, the message arrived: \u201cHe\u2019s gone<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI thought he was in the hospital, that they would save him\u2026 But it turned out it was already too late,\u201d she says.
Her voice is quiet, but there is no helplessness in it \u2013 only unspoken dignity. Because there is pain that does not scream. It simply lives inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the war, the Cherevko family lived in the city of Chornomorsk. Dmytro worked in construction, Tetiana \u2013 in a store. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the family moved to her parents\u2019 home in the village of Balandyne in the Cherkasy region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe children lost their friends, activities, school. There was no work in the village. We planted a garden, started a small farm. But life became hard and joyless,\u201d Tetiana says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After her husband\u2019s death, she learned to hold her pain in her hands \u2013 just as she once held her child.
\u201cI hold on thanks to my daughters. They always support me. As long as we have each other \u2013 we live.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no regret in her voice. There is firm certainty: her children must see an example \u2013 not of a broken woman, but of a mother who stands tall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today Tetiana is not alone. She attends psychological support groups, communicates with women who have also experienced loss.
\u201cWe don\u2019t heal each other, we just listen, and that makes it easier,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, she takes part in volunteer initiatives \u2013 helps with the \u201cBuilding Ukraine Together\u201d projects, donates to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
She says this is her way of staying close to her husband \u2013 through action, through kindness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She plans to move to Lviv with her children. She is looking for a job to support her family.
\u201cI don\u2019t want sympathy. I just want to work and live. Because he would have wanted us to live,\u201d Tetiana says.<\/p>\n\n\n

The war took her husband, but it could not take away her love.
Because love is not a memory, but a force that keeps the world in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tetiana does not put a period after his name.
She continues the story \u2013 in her daughters, in good deeds, in every day that does not allow the darkness to win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her heart is not at home \u2013 it is the home itself.
The one where memory, faith, and Ukraine live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
