President Andrzej Duda met with representatives of national, ethnic and religious minorities living in Poland. On Monday, January 15, a New Year’s meeting of the Polish leader with representatives of national, ethnic and religious minorities living in Poland took place in the Presidential Palace in Warsaw. The President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, said that persons from minorities were very loyal to Poland, and the independence of the state was very important to them. They fought on behalf of Poland in 1920, and during the Second World War. “On these cemetery there are graves with the Latin, and with the Orthodox cross, with the crescent, and with the star of David. These soldiers lie in the same land, as they fought, side by side. This is a great symbol of the community of the Commonwealth, which we are above all the differences. You can ask why they did it. They also wanted this to be their Commonwealth, in which they could live, develop, “said the head of Poland.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

President Andrzej Duda added that the 100th anniversary of the return of Poland’s independence, which is celebrated this year, is an opportunity to recall the heroes who fought for it “regardless of which language they favored and what religion they recognized.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
