Poland raises terrorist threat level, tightens security measures

Officers from various services will be required to carry long guns and wear bulletproof vests. It is reported by Upmp.news with reference to “Polskie Radio”.

According to the Government Security Centre (RCB), the alert levels (Level 2 BRAVO and Level 2 BRAVO-CRP) have been extended for Poland and for energy infrastructure located outside the country.

The heightened state of readiness for potential terrorist events will remain in effect for the next three months, until February 28, 2025.

The order, signed by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, applies not only to uniformed services but also to public administration, particularly regarding the maintenance of cybersecurity standards.

Under the new security measures, police, military police, and border guards are required to carry long guns and wear bulletproof vests while at the elevated alert level.

In high-risk areas, they will be authorized to carry out vehicle, person, and public building checks. Throughout Poland, there will be a ban on non-authorized people entering schools, kindergartens, and universities.

Services are also required to review their supplies and prepare them for potential use in the event of a terrorist attack, as well as secure and close unused buildings and rooms.
