Officials from 83 countries discuss implementation of Ukraine’s peace plan at Davos

Representatives from 83 countries have met to discuss the implementation of Ukraine’s peace plan, the Ukraine Peace Formula, in Davos, Switzerland. It is reported by Upmp.news with reference to “Polskie Radio”.

The meeting took place on Sunday, ahead of the annual World Economic Forum, according to news outlets.

It brought together national-security and foreign-policy advisors from countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, North America and Oceania, Ukrainian officials said.

Andriy Yermak, top aide to Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, told reporters that nations of the Global South were “increasingly included” in the talks on Kyiv’s peace plan, reflecting a recognition that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine “is a challenge for all of humanity.”

Sunday’s talks focused on “Withdrawal of Russian troops and cessation of hostilities”, “Restoration of justice”, “Ecological safety”, “Preventing escalation and repetition of aggression”, and “Confirmation of the end of the war,” according to Ukrainian officials.

Yermak and Switzerland’s Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis also noted “the importance of involving China in peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.”

The 10-point Ukraine Peace Formula calls for the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, the withdrawal of Russian troops, and holding to account those responsible for war crimes, according to news outlets.

The plan has received broad support from Ukraine’s western allies, The Kyiv Independent website reported.

Monday is day 691 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
