Chancellor Olaf Scholz makes unannounced visit to Kyiv

On Sunday evening, December 1, Olaf Scholz arrived at the train station in Przemyśl, near the Polish-Ukrainian border, before embarking on an overnight, hours-long journey to Ukraine’s capital. It is reported by Upmp.news with reference to “Polskie Radio”.

As Olaf Scholz conveyed via social media: “Ukraine can rely on us. We stand by our word and follow through on our promises.”

To underscore this commitment, he shared that he traveled to Kyiv overnight by train, passing through a country that has been defending itself against Russian aggression for over 1,000 days.

Chancellor Scholz emphasized that Germany “will remain Ukraine’s strongest supporter in Europe.”

The politician assured that during his meeting with the President of Ukraine, he would announce the delivery of additional weapon systems worth 650 million euros, which are set to be provided by December.
