THE PRESIDENT OF POLAND MET WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE DIPLOMATIC CORPS

Polish President Andrzej Duda met with representatives of the diplomatic corps. More than a hundred ambassadors from all over the world attended the annual meeting in the Presidential Palace in Warsaw.

Andrzej Duda has spoke on the future of the European Union. According to him, the European community faced three major threats: division, political disintegration and degradation of its global position.

“Europe is strong and must remain strong due to the will of its peoples. In turn, European institutions are obliged to serve this will. If we turn this hierarchy and set up institutions above the peoples, we will violate the natural order of things. The result of this rejection is the withdrawal of communities from the idea of a united Europe, as evidenced by the results of the full election period that took place in the countries of old Europe in 2018,” said the president of Poland.

According to Andrzej Duda, the EU’s disintegration affects, among other things, the concept of Europe of two speeds. The President of Poland added that the security of the European Union is very dependent on the strength of Central Europe.

“European reintegration should be based on the principle of unity, solidarity and equality of all EU member states. Strong Europe also requires a revision of its position in the world, taking into account the effective resolution of such issues as the migration crisis or the currency instability of the euro” , – stressed the head of the Polish state.

During an annual meeting in the Presidential Palace, Andrzej Duda urged diplomats to resume the debate on the enlargement of the European Union in 2018. According to the President of Poland, the European community should develop, not “diminish”.
