IN WROCLAW A WOMAN WAS INVOLVED IN PEOPLE TRAFFICKING
According to the investigation, the woman used some personal problems and ignorance of the Polish language of Ukrainians in order to commit a crime. It is reported by Upmp.news with reference to Polish Radio.
The district prosecutor’s office in Wroclaw has accused 44-year-old Agnieszka G. of trafficking in human beings, threats and counterfeiting of documents. The woman was engaged in hiring Ukrainian citizens for work in three Wroclaw construction companies.
Investigation into trafficking in human beings has been opened by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Wroclaw after preliminary proceedings by officers of the Border Guard Service in concealment of passports.
According to the Polish border guards, Agneshka G, HR manager of construction companies, was pressed 20 charges, including 17 on human trafficking.
The woman was responsible for recruiting and assigning jobs to three construction companies in Wroclaw. According to the Border Guard Service, Agneshka G. used the personal situation and ignorance of the Polish language by citizens of Ukraine. Employees took away their passports so they could not travel freely around the country and leave jobs.
They also used so-called “dept. scheme” against Ukrainian workers. It means that the employers demanded to pay off all the expenses they made to employ the worker in order to give back the documents.
According to investigators, the woman also set fines without paying salaries. Workers were punished for being sick, changing jobs or not answering calls from Agneshka G. The woman faces at least three years of imprisonment.
