THE CRIMINAL GROUP THAT TRANSMITTED UKRAINIANS FROM POLAND TO GREAT BRITAIN WAS DISCOVERED

The criminal group illegally transported Ukrainian citizens using Polish identity cards. It is reported by Upmp.news with the reference to Polish Radio.

The District Court in Jelenia Góra in the west of Poland has been charged with a charge against members of an organized criminal group involved in the illegal transfer of foreigners (in particular Ukrainians) from Poland to the United Kingdom. Members of the group helped citizens of Ukraine cross the border using Polish identity documents. Employees of the Border Guard Service of Poland seized more than 100 Polish identity cards. The leader of the group, a 52-year-old resident of the city of Zgózheliec, is prescribed up to 10 years of imprisonment, and other members of the group – up to 8 years.

The indictment is directed against seven people – residents of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, suspected of organizing and assisting in illegal crossing the state border.

Employees of the Border Guard Service of Poland for a period of several months investigated the work of an organized criminal group involved in the illegal transport of foreigners, mostly Ukrainian citizens from Poland to the United Kingdom. According to investigators, members of the group UK were selling Polish identity documents that had been stolen or redeemed to foreigners, who legally came to Poland and intended to travel to the. Members of the group used the similarity of foreigners to persons depicted in documents. After selecting the most similar document, a foreigner, who was provided accommodation in boarding houses and a plane ticket, studied the person’s data. Foreigners were taken by car via the carriers or directly to Great Britain. For organizing a trip to the United Kingdom, members received EUR 3,000 per person.

The group operated from December 2016 and organized an illegal crossing of the boarder of at least 11 foreigners. The group managed to illegally earn at least 45 thousand euros.

The close cooperation of the Polish border guards with the special services of Great Britain, Germany, France and the Netherlands helped halt the illegal activities of an organized criminal group, prosecute and punish perpetrators. As a result of the operation 24 foreigners who, using their external resemblance to persons in Polish documents and who tried to illegally enter the United Kingdom were detained.
