V4 presidents to discuss regional, international security

The presidents of Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia are set to gather for a summit in southern Poland on Monday to discuss regional security and a range of other international issues. It is reported by Upmp.news with reference to “Polskie Radio”.

Poland’s President Andrzej Duda will host the event, which will be held in the southern mountain resort of Wisła, near the Czech and Slovak borders, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Duda and his regional counterparts are also expected to focus on crisis management including joint response to natural disasters, according to the Polish president’s office.

Topics up for discussion include Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine and the latest developments in Georgia and the Middle East, in addition to the future of transatlantic relations, the Polish president’s foreign policy aide, Mieszko Pawlak, said ahead of the meeting.

Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia together form a regional cooperation platform known as the Visegrad Group (V4).
