XIII “City – Space for Business”: Chełm Supports the Reconstruction of Ukraine

On March 4th, the 13th conference in the “City – Space for Business” series took place in Chełm, bringing together over 150 participants from the business world, public administration, and organizations supporting economic cooperation between Poland and Ukraine.

The event provided an opportunity to discuss regional development, new opportunities for Polish-Ukrainian cooperation, and the reconstruction of Ukraine. The conference was organized by the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and the City of Chełm.

The conference was officially opened by Jacek Piechota, President of the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, Jakub Banaszek, Mayor of Chełm, Zbigniew Wojciechowski, Councilor of the Lublin Voivodeship Assembly, and Oleh Kuts, Consul General of Ukraine in Lublin.

We extend our special thanks to the Consul, who honored the conference with his presence. In his speech, he expressed gratitude for the cooperation he has provided thus far during his diplomatic mission and for the support Ukraine receives from its Polish partners. He also emphasized that it was here, in Poland, and especially in the Lublin region, that he met true and extremely valuable friends who have shown solidarity and assistance to Ukraine since the first days of the war.

The thematic scope of the conference focused on several key issues: the role of Chełm as a logistics and investment platform for the reconstruction of Ukraine, activities supporting entrepreneurship and professional activation of migrants, and new opportunities for Polish-Ukrainian economic cooperation.

An important element of the meeting was the exchange of experiences between entrepreneurs from the SME sector, as well as numerous networking discussions and B2B meetings. Attendees were particularly interested in the panel dedicated to the Club Ukraine Facility initiative, during which they discussed new instruments for financing bilateral economic cooperation, with particular emphasis on the loan to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine, offered by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.

We would like to thank all patrons, partners, speakers, moderators and conference participants for their presence, commitment and active participation in the event.

We believe that joint meetings and initiatives are an important step in building lasting economic cooperation between Poland and Ukraine and in developing partnerships that will play a significant role in the future process of rebuilding Ukraine.
