Oleg Krot and Operation “Web”: Philanthropist and Partners Supply Ukrainian Soldiers with 500 Tons of Fishing Nets to Protect Against Drones
Thanks to the efforts of Oleg Krot, head of the NGO “Techiia Foundation,” and his collaboration with other volunteer organizations — the NGO “Union of Entrepreneurs of the Television and Film Industry” and the BF “Volunteer Battalion” — 500 tons of fishing nets were delivered to Ukraine. It is reported by Upmp.news.
This important cargo from the Netherlands will serve as reliable protection for Ukrainian soldiers, helping to camouflage equipment and counter enemy drones. The transfer of the nets and the operation, called “Web,” was featured in a national telethon report.
“We have already organized larger shipments and are working on delivering thousands more tons. Our goal is to provide the defenders on the front lines with as many nets as possible to protect them from attacks,” said Oleg Krot, head of the NGO “Techiia Foundation.”
.
According to Artem Koliubaiev, head of the NGO “Union of Entrepreneurs of the Television and Film Industry” and one of the operation’s initiators, China initially attempted to purchase these nets for their own use, but Ukrainian volunteers convinced partners to donate them to Ukraine free of charge.
“This is 500 tons out of 4,000 currently stored in the Netherlands. We only cover the transportation costs,” said Artem Koliubaiev.
As explained by Ihor Bondarchuk from the BF “Volunteer Battalion,” the thick weaving of the nets is perfect for intercepting FPV drones and kamikaze drones, which are actively used by the enemy:
“When a drone hits the net, it can get entangled or detonate in a different spot than intended by the enemy operator.”
Operation “Web” is an example of how the combined efforts of various organizations help strengthen the country’s defense capabilities. These fishing nets will become a reliable protection tool on the front lines, camouflaging equipment, creating an additional barrier against enemy drones, and helping save the lives of Ukrainian defenders.
