ANDRZEJ DUDA DID NOT SIGN AN UPDATED LAW ON THE SOCIAL INSURANCE SYSTEM

The President sent an updated law on the social insurance system to the Constitutional Court. The parliament passed it on December 15. It is reported by Upmp.news with the reference to Polish Radio.

According to the Office of the President, Andrzej Duda’s made remarks on the course of the legislative procedure. In his opinion, the type and importance of the changes introduced into the law, concerning both employees and employers, leads to the fact that work on a normative act of this type should take place in full compliance with the procedure, including the dialogue and cooperation with social partners. The Polish Commission for Solidarity and the Confederation of Employers “Leviatan” informed the president about their comments on the process of work over the law.

The law eliminates the limit above which those who earned the most the did not pay pension contributions. The Sejm adopted amendments of the Senate, according to which the law should come into force in 2019, not 2018.
