The Senate receives most of the ideas on celebrations the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence from Poles from Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and Latvia. It is reported by Upmp.news with reference to Polish Radio.
This year polonium organizations will hold celebrations dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the independence of Poland in more than 100 places around the world. The Senate of Poland collects information about these events.
“We have the most proposals from the east: from Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia and Lithuania, but there are also many statements from Australia and the United States,” said Yakub Kovalsky, chairman of the Senate’s Office. He added that it concerns mainly cultural and educational events, as well as historical contests – offers of polonium celebrations to the centenary of independence can still be submitted on the website of the Senate. Few hundred events have already received financial support from the Polish parliament.
Also in September in Warsaw, there will be the “Congress of the Polony of the World”. There will be around 800 people of Polish descent who live abroad in the Sejm and Senate.
“During the congress, we plan to hold many discussion forums. For example, the forum of scholars working abroad, a forum of parliamentarians of Polish descent, because there is a large group of deputies and senators who have Polish origin and emphasize on it, will also be a forum of polonium priests and a forum of polonium sports”, – noted Yakub Kovalsky.
In addition, the foreign celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the independence of Poland are being prepared by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute. 200 cultural events are planned, including the concert Monyushko and Paderevsky in Vienna, the presentation of the Polish jazz in Bremen, the performance “Pan Tadeusz” in Vilnius and the exhibition of Polish design in Milan.
