1 BILLION EUROS WORTH HIGHWAY WILL CONNECT THE PORTS OF UKRAINE AND POLAND
Ukraine and the EU want to build jointly a new highway that will connect Odesa and Gdansk. It is reported by Upmp.news with reference to Polish Radio.
The European Union can help to finance the construction of a transport corridor between the Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea and the Polish ports on the Baltic Sea. The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan announced this information.
The highway is supposed to go from Odessa and Nikolaev to the border with Poland and from this point it will go to Gdansk. The distance of this motorway on the territory of Ukraine will be 1088 kilometers.
Nn February 20 in Kyiv Omelyan discussed with Henrik Gololay, the Director General of the European Commission on Mobility and Transport the financial side of the construction of the highway.
“We were informed about the opportunity to partially finance the construction of the Go Highway – our project that will connect the Baltic Sea with the Black Sea through one of the financial instruments of the European Union,” Omelyan informed.
The new highway will be built on already existing roads in Ukraine, which will pass from Odessa to the border with Poland through Lviv and Ternopil. Its second part will go to Khmelnytsky and Vinnitsa, and in Uman it will connect with the road Kiev-Odessa.
The total cost of the project is 1 billion euros.
