President established the Foundation for the Support of Educational and Scientific Programs

President Petro Poroshenko approved the decision to establish the Foundation for the Support of Educational and Scientific Programs for the Youth in Ukraine and signed a corresponding decree. It is reported by Upmp.news with reference to Official website President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

President Petro Poroshenko approved the decision to establish the Foundation for the Support of Educational and Scientific Programs for the Youth in Ukraine and signed a corresponding decree. It was stated by the President in Kyiv, during a meeting with students and postgraduate students.

“It is very important for the development of science and support for talented young people, students, postgraduates, young scientists to take place effectively and at the state level,” he said.

During the conversation, Petro Poroshenko called the current situation, when hundreds or perhaps thousands of talented young people are forced to leave Ukraine in order to continue their studies, unsatisfactory. That is why it was decided to create the Foundation, which will facilitate the work of young scientists and industry development in our country.

“We must create all opportunities for talented Ukrainian youth to have every opportunity to realize their potential in Ukraine,” the Head of State stressed.

“And for that, I decided to establish a Presidential Foundation to support educational and scientific programs for the youth. The most talented young people, even if they do not have enough money, should have the support of the President and the state,” Petro Poroshenko said, noting that young people will have an opportunity to study, win grants and carry out their scientific research.

Such a decision, according to the Head of State, is “the right way”. “And I am pleased to announce this in such a circle, with the best students and postgraduates present. You are the hope of your teachers, the hope of the entire Ukrainian people and the hope of the President,” Petro Poroshenko said.

The President stressed the importance of supporting talented Ukrainian youth engaged in academic and applied science. At the same time, he noted that due to the Ukrainian scientists, it was possible to significantly strengthen the country’s defense capability and revive the Ukrainian army. “We are talking about the creation of special scientific hubs based on the leading universities of Ukraine, such as Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Kyiv Polytechnic University and others. This initiative is not only the state’s one. We are trying to attract the best world producers for the support of Ukrainian scientific developments,” Petro Poroshenko said, adding that many of these developments are already being realized in the military-industrial complex of Ukraine.

“We need to have a pleiad of young scientists with Western experience, self-confidence, who will be on an equal footing with academicians,” Petro Poroshenko said. “The Foundation itself is created for this purpose. To provide appropriate grant support, free means for talented young scientists to go abroad, study, return and make science in Ukraine. And this work should be connected with practical application,” Petro Poroshenko said.

In his opinion, when the state, government and academics unite, positive changes in this direction become possible. The President is well aware of the amount of work to be done in order to move the Ukrainian science forward. “Let us unite and make these changes and these reforms together,” the Head of State said.

“I firmly believe that this is the only possible and correct way,” he once again stressed.

According to Petro Poroshenko, the countries of the European Union are willing to support Ukraine in that. In particular, the issue of supporting Ukrainian science was recently discussed during the visit to Ukraine of Chancellor Angela Merkel. The President noted that together with Chancellor Merkel, a number of programs were launched, starting from the construction of Zaporizhzhia-Melitopol-Mariupol road and reconstruction of the Donbas infrastructure, ending with a special fund for energy efficiency, support and development of science and other extremely important programs.

“The Foundation will support you on the way to your dreams. I wish everyone victories. I wish you to believe in yourself, because victories are impossible without that,” the Head of State said.
