STUDENTS FROM DONETSK VISITED LVIV AND TERNOPIL REGIONS FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS

379 kids from Donetsk settlements located on the line of separation spent Christmas holidays in the Lviv and Ternopil regions. It is reported by Upmp.news with the reference to the press service of the Donetsk regional state administration.

Today, in Kostiantynivka, deputy head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Igor Stokoz met a delegation of pupils from Donetsk Oblast who visited Lviv and Ternopil regions for Christmas holidays in the framework of the strengthening of integration ties.

The trip was aimed at strengthening the integration links within the state, making the participants acquainted with the family customs, the peculiarities of holding Christmas holidays in Western Ukraine, raising civic consciousness, patriotism, respect for folk traditions, forming a careful attitude to the historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine. The trip lasted 5 days – from 4 to 11 January.

At the invitation of the heads of Lviv and Ternopil regional state administrations, with the assistance of the chairman of the Donetsk regional state administration, the head of the regional military-civil administration Pavel Zhebrivsky, with financial support from the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko, 379 schoolchildren from the Donetsk region from the settlements located on the line of separation visited Lviv and Ternopil for the Christmas holidays.

The children lived in the families of villagers of Lviv and Ternopil regions, having the opportunity to feel the sincere hospitality of Ukrainians in the West. During the rest of the day, the children got a lot of bright impressions and unforgettable feelings of participation in the robes, caroling in the villages, celebration of Christmas holidays according to the customs of Western Ukraine and found new friends.

Also, the pupils had an opportunity to find out more about the history of the Ukraine, to get acquainted with examples of Western Ukrainian embroidered vestments, finds of Trypillian culture and works of local artists, were impressed by the mysterious Borshchiv caves and fascinated by the ancient Lviv and Ternopil.

This trip was organized jointly with Petro Poroshenko Bloc’s regional party organization. Children are delighted, they are satisfied, such exchanges must be done constantly, because we are all Ukrainians, we are united. And we all strive for one thing – peace in our land”, – said Igor Stokoz, deputy head of the Donetsk regional state administration.

The pupils and teachers of the Donetsk region were pleasantly impressed by the high level of organization of the events and goodwill of local residents. They all brought home a bunch of Christmas presents and warm memories.
