President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. It is reported by Upmp.news with reference to Official website President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The heads of state discussed steps aimed at counteracting the spread of coronavirus and minimizing the impact of the pandemic on the citizens of Ukraine and Poland. In this context, Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Andrzej Duda for the practical assistance provided by the Polish side.
“I reaffirm Ukraine’s willingness to join the implementation of your plan of international cooperation after the end of the coronavirus pandemic. I wish a speedy recovery to all Poles who are undergoing a coronavirus challenge,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President of Ukraine informed the interlocutor of the current security situation in Donbas and Ukraine’s efforts to ensure lasting peace. Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked official Warsaw and personally Andrzej Duda for their firm support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state.
“You should know that there are people in Donbas who really want peace and who appreciate the efforts aimed to achieve it. Today, a meeting of advisors to the leaders of the “Normandy Four” is taking place in Berlin. I hope that the meeting of the leaders of the “Normandy Four” will take place soon,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The interlocutors agreed on the importance of maintaining the traditionally high dynamics of bilateral political dialogue. Andrzej Duda gratefully accepted the invitation of Volodymyr Zelenskyy to visit Ukraine in October this year.
The President of Ukraine raised the issue of historical memory, namely the inclusion in the register of military burials and the restoration of a legal Ukrainian grave on Monastyr Mount in Werchrata. The President of Poland is hopeful that this issue will have been removed from the agenda by the next meeting of the heads of state.
The Presidents of Ukraine and Poland also exchanged views on the development of the situation in Belarus. The Ukrainian President underscored the common approaches of Ukraine and the European Union in assessing the domestic political crisis in the neighboring country.
