A CONSTITUTION FOR SCIENCE WAS SUBMITTED IN POLAND

After public discussion a draft law was promulgated by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Yaroslav Govin. It is reported by Upmp.news with reference to Polish Radio.

Support of regional universities, parental vacation for doctoral students, an order not to extend non-stationary higher education, and higher salaries for higher school teachers are some of the proposals for a law on higher education.

The Minister of Science and Higher Education Yaroslav Govin after public discussions presented a draft law named the Constitution for science. “We have created an unusual capital of public trust and unusual intellectual capital. I am convinced that the achievements of the National Congress of Science will serve not only to provide the best form to the law 2.0, the Constitution for science, but will serve as an inspiration for many other reforms, debates, and discussions,” the minister said.

The constitution for science will replace four current laws in this area. On the basis of new rules, universities will be able to introduce entering exams. During the 125 days of public discussions, more than three thousand remarks were announced. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education first publicized this project in September, on the occasion of the National Congress of Science in Warsaw. Now the government will work out the bill. New rules will come into force from the new academic year.
