NEW ELECTRIC BUSES APPEARS ON POLISH STREETS

Poland plans to become a European leader in the production of buses that do not generate harmful emissions. It is reported by Upmp.news with the reference to Polish Radio.

On December 29, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland signed an agreement on financing the purchasing of vehicles that do not pollute the environment.

I believe that we have a scientific and economic potential that allows us not to overtake, but to advance the world” – said Yaroslav Govin, the Vice Premier, the Minister of Science and Higher Education.

The agreement was signed by the representatives of the National Center for Research and Development and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management of Poland. In the agreement concerns the purchase of thousands of new generation electric buses.

The first of electric buses will hit Silesia. The region representatives signed a contract for purchasing 300 vehicles with no emission of harmful substances.

This would be one third of all the buses of the Silesian agglomeration, connecting the capital of the region, Katowice, with the neighboring major cities – Sosnowiec, Gliwice, Tychy; there are the most routes between them, and here it will be easier to create an infrastructure, in particular, the charging station for electric cars.

Warsaw, Green Mountain, Lublin, Stalowa Wola and Leshno will also receive electric buses. The contract price for purchasing the vehicles for Polish cities – 2.2 billion zloty (more than half a billion euros).
