PRIME MINISTER OF HUNGARY: POLAND IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTOR IN CENTRAL EUROPE

Central Europe, in particular Poland and Hungary, is the engine of the EU economy” – Victor Orban. It is reported by Upmp.news with the reference to Polish Radio.

Prime Minister of Hungary Victor Orban said that his country would defend Polish interests during the vote on the launch of Article 7 of the Treaty on European Union. In an interview with Polish television, the Hungarian prime minister noted that the rule of law in Poland, which is being implemented by the European Commission, has no true basis. “We believe that Poland faces injustice and the joint historical experience requires us to be on the side of Poland,” Viktor Orban said.
According to the Hungarian prime minister, the support of the Polish side is a result of not only Polish-Hungarian friendship, but also the care about the interests of Central Europe. “What’s happening today with Poland could damage our country tomorrow,” Orban said.
The Prime Minister of Hungary also drew attention to the fact that in recent years, the countries of Central Europe, in particular the Visegrad Group, are becoming more and more important actors in the European Union. “The greatest actor of the Visegrad Group and Central Europe is, of course, Poland. The West must become accustomed to the fact that these countries have become stronger both in the group and separately. The Visegrad Group plays a stabilizing role in Europe. If it wasn`t not for it, then the entire EU economy would be in a much worse situation,” said Victor Orban.
Recall that on Wednesday, January 3, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Moraveckii paid a visit to Budapest, where he met with Prime Minister Viktor Orban. This was the first official foreign trip of Mateusz Moravecki as a Prime Minister.
