MFA OF UKRAINE: 456 UKRAINIANS WERE DETAINED IN CRIMEA DURING 4 YEARS OF RUSSIAN OCCUPATION

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that Russia continues to live in its imperial past, returning to the USSR. It is reported by Upmp.news with reference to Polish Radio.

During four years of occupation of Crimea, Russian security forces detained 456 citizens of Ukraine, in particular Crimean Tatars on the territory of the peninsula. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Twitter, – reports portal zaxid.net.

Four years have passed and the human rights situation in Crimea has deteriorated significantly. The detention of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars has become a common practice. Russia continues to live in its imperial past, returning to the USSR. We will not play according to Russian scenario,” the Foreign Ministry said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also informs that during the years of occupation 377 interrogations and 112 searches were conducted. More than 40 political prisoners are serving sentences for false accusations.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is developing a memorandum containing information on violations of the rights of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians in the occupied Crimea, as well as issues related to the financing of terrorism in the east. Ukraine plans to submit it to the International Court of Justice on June 12.
