O. TURCHINOV: PARLIAMENT PASSED A LAW THAT DEFINES RUSSIA AS AN AGGRESSOR

The draft law “On the peculiarities of state policy on ensuring the state sovereignty of Ukraine over temporarily occupied territories in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions” was approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine by 280 votes. It is reported by Upmp.news with reference to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

According to him, this law creates legal and organizational conditions for the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

“In addition, by expanding the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations, this law strengthens our position in repulsing the armed aggression of the Russian Federation and restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine”, – said O.Turchinov, adding that in this law, the Russian Federation “is clearly and unequivocally recognized as an aggressor state, and the territories of certain regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions are deemed as occupied. ” “It completely overwhelms the attempts of the Russian Federation to disguise the war against Ukraine as a” peacekeeping operation “and considerably strengthens the position of our country in international courts”, – said the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
